This bed was an exercise in creating an attractive bed using solid wood (which is a material that is very popular with Indian customers) while also ensuring that the cost remained affordable.
The headboard structure was designed so that a narrow piece of wood could be used at the apt angle and height to achieve optimum leaning comfort and visual impact.
The platform of the bed was also kept low so that material could be conserved.

The aesthetic of this bed was informed by the global trend of Comforting Curves. Shapes such as arches, circles and semi circles are increasingly being incorporated into the design of products as well as in residential interior design.

The reasons for this are twofold.
1. Curved forms blend a sense of fun with a psychological desire to be comforted and cocooned.
2. Modern interpretations of Retro design themes are all the vogue these days. And curves and arches have been a staple of the Retro design aesthetic.

Hence the marriage of this trend with the cost considerations resulted in the Sol Bed.
This bed is market tested and continues to sell well.
